A short line beats a beautiful one

The single most useful rule we can give you: count the words. One to three words read instantly from across a room and stay legible at 60 cm. Five or more force the tube to get thin, the sign to get wide, and the price to climb — and nobody reads a paragraph on a wall anyway. If your phrase is long, the answer is usually a bigger size, not a smaller font.

Script or block lettering

Script feels warmer and personal — it dominates in homes, weddings and salons. Block lettering reads faster and holds up better at a distance, which is why shops and gyms choose it. Both are equally producible; the choice is about tone, not technique. Black and grey elements in a design become white tubes, because a tube has to glow.
